Nigeria: Her Postal/ZIP Code.

 Have you ever been asked what is Nigeria's ZIP code, either from a friend or an online application, and you hurriedly and confidently, said or inserted 234? My question is: what happened next? You most likely were laughed at or bounced back from your application! Newsflash, 234 was wrong!!!

Before I give the correct codes, first off, let's clarify a thing or two...

ZIP Code
ZIP Code is short for: Zone Improvement Pin Code and it was exclusively coined for the U.S. Why? Because when senders used the ''Code'' in the Postal Address, the mails traveled efficiently and quickly(like a ''Zip''). In other words, ZIP Code is also known as Postal Code. And they both are used for the same purpose - mailing.

So, while ZIP code is likened to the U.S, Postal code is likened to all other countries - including Nigeria.

Nigeria's ZIP or Postal (whichever) Codes are;

  • 110001
  • 23401
  • 00176
When filling an online application either of these codes will work.  For clarity sake, 234 is Nigeria's international dialing code.

Hope this saves you the embarrassment I've been through in the past. And if this post has helped you, please hit the share button. Leave your contributions/corrections on the comment section. Thanks! Have a lovely day. :)
